Baked Garlic & Brown Sugar Chicken

Ready for an easy entrée?  All you need are FOUR ingredients!  Honestly, just 4 – chicken breasts, minced garlic, brown sugar, and oil.  It really doesn’t get much easier than this – It’s a perfect recipe for a busy weeknight when you just want to throw something in the oven, walk away, come back again in 25 minutes, and pull out a mouth-watering dish.

Tip:  I always use store-bought minced garlic to save time and effort – much easier than mincing your own!

The combination of garlic and brown sugar seemed odd, but interesting, to me at first but now that I’ve tried this recipe, I see how much the ingredients can compliment each other.  The sweet and savory duo in this recipe is like the sweet and salty relationship (chocolate covered pretzels, anyone?).

Let’s get dinner started!

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees (F) and lightly grease a baking dish.

Heat a small saute pan over medium heat and saute your minced garlic in the oil until tender.

Remove the pan from the heat and stir in your brown sugar (light or dark).  It’s okay if not every last granule gets dissolved – These little clumps make for deliciously sweet bites!

Place your chicken breasts in your baking dish and carefully pour the garlic and brown sugar mixture on top.

Tip:  I used 2 chicken breasts but you could easily make 4 with the given measurements or just double the recipe.

Pop your dish in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes (or until juices run clear).  Now, it’s time to pull out the caramel colored deliciousness and enjoy.  For me, this chicken paired well with my Baked Salt & Vinegar Fries!
